Loyola Alumnus Myles Burns '22 Joined the Dallas Mavericks for the 2023 NBA Summer League

Last month, Loyola alumnus Myles Burns '22 joined the Dallas Mavericks for the 2023 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. 

As a student at Loyola, Myles played on the men's basketball team for four years and assisted in leading the team to the 2022 NAIA National Championship. During his senior year alone, Myles was named NAIA National Championship Tournament MVP, NAIA Second-Team All-American, SSAC Defensive Player of the Year, First-Team All-SSAC, and SSAC Championship Tournament MVP. He also received the Marques Haynes Award, which is given to the player with the most total steals in college basketball, regardless of level or division.

After graduating from Loyola in 2022 with a degree in mass communication, Myles spent the 2022-2023 academic year in Oxford as a forward on the men's basketball team. Myles started on the court for Ole Miss in 30 out of 33 games and made an appearance in all 33. During his time at Ole Miss, he scored his 2,000th point and collected the 400th steal of his collegiate career.
